THE PROJECT

One Million Cat Project is a community project for reporting and displaying cat sightings. This page explains what information the application may process when you use it.

INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE

When you report a cat, the application may process information such as the city or country you select, the date of the sighting, and a photograph you choose to upload.

LOCATION PRIVACY

The project is designed to avoid publishing your precise private location. Public map information may be adjusted or generalized. Do not submit a location or photograph that contains information you do not want to share publicly.

ACCOUNT & STORAGE

The application may use an anonymous authentication session to associate submissions with an application session. Submitted photographs and related project data may be stored using the project's backend services.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The application uses services including Supabase for application data, authentication and storage, and OpenStreetMap/Nominatim for map and location lookup functionality. These services may process technical information according to their own policies.

PUBLIC INFORMATION

Information submitted as part of a cat sighting may be displayed publicly as part of the project. Please do not upload personal, confidential, or sensitive information.

RETENTION & REMOVAL

Project data may be retained while it is needed to operate the project. If you need a submission reviewed or removed, use the contact information published with the application or developer account.

CHILDREN

The application is not intended to collect personal information from children. Please do not submit personal information belonging to a child.

CHANGES

This policy may be updated when the application or its data practices change. The latest version will be published with the application.
